Cracked Sewer Pipe Repair in Basement Project

I definitely would not hesitate recommending Dr. Pipe Drain and Plumbing to friends, neighbors, and anyone else. I appreciated the clear and no-nonsense communication with Maxim, and the great job his crew did. I needed to have my old lead water service line replaced, and opted for the trenchless “torpedo method” offered by Dr. Pipe. The guys got here bright and early in the morning, and by 3pm everything was done with only one small excavation at the city valve (filled and ready to patch up), and left the basement and driveway cleaner than they were before they got here. They got right down to business and worked hard, fast and professionally until it was done, with only a short break for lunch. And it cost about half of what other companies had quoted me for digging a trench and messing up the whole property (and taking two or three days to do it). True, we were lucky the torpedo didn’t hit any big rock, but even if it had, it would most likely still have been a great choice (with less disruption) than the others.

I have used Dr. Pipe since 2011. I call Dr. Pipe whether it is an ordinary job or a major emergency. Twice in emergency situations they came to my aid as soon as possible and this is a relief in a stressful situation. Max (owner) and his crew helped me one winter when a frozen garden pipe burst in the basement ceiling and water poured out of my pot lights. Bad. I turned off the main water supply (Max taught me how to do this simple home-saving tip previously, which has saved my home twice — trust me, learn where your water shutoff is and how to turn it off, all you new and young homeowners.) Dr. Pipe also installed a backwater valve underneath my house — a major job — and this has protected my home from sewage flooding during heavy rain downpours. I never have to worry again about sewage spewing up through a basement sink or floor drain or basement toilet. I trust them in my home, they are always respectful and well mannered, and treat my house as if their own. Don’t hesitate next time you have a minor or major job. I trust them 100%. I’ve recommended them to several neighbours who have used them too.

I called Maxim because I had a drain problem in my basement when it rained really hard. Maxim came promptly after I called, he assessed the problem gave me a price and left the decision up to me. Within 2 days of deciding to go ahead, Maxim's foremen showed up at 8 am and installed a back flow water valve and a new sump pump with a backup system. He was done by 2pm, the site was cleaned up, with the new sump pump working. I found this company great to work with and very reliable. I sure am glad I chose them.

i have used the services of Dr Pipe on three separate occasions in last 5 years.

On each occasion, they came to my (110 year old) house same day.

On each occasion they completely repaired the problem

One time they repaired a blocked toilet on very short notice. On the second occasion, they removed multiple blockages in the dishwasher drain line that had accumulated over many years

And in my largest job, they installed a high tech special long life plastic sleeve, inside a 100 year old, 15 foot long, lateral sewer line in the basement - which saved me from hiring a contractor to jack hammer the floor to replace the lateral sewer line.

They are very knowledgeable, experienced, hard working and reasonably priced.
