We had a frustrating experience with another plumbing company that simply didn’t care, so finding Ron was a breath of fresh air. He is truly skilled at what he does.. the toilet and fixture installation were done beautifully and with real attention to detail. What impressed us most was that he went above and beyond without us even asking. We were planning to purchase an additional item, but Ron just took care of it. That kind of skill combined with genuine care for his customers is so hard to find. We will absolutely be calling Ron again for any future plumbing needs!
Response from the owner:Thank you for your business. Sincerely Ron and Max

If I could give a zero stars. I would. I hired Dr. Pipe (Osmaks) in October 2023 to install two alcove-style bathtub, and tub trim, faucet and shower head in my two bathrooms. I told Maksim and Ron (his son) that after they were done, I had a tile installer booked to do the tile around the tub. During the job, they didn’t level/shim the tub, didn’t level/center the shower head line, ripped out the floor plank in front of one tub (but not the second one), and destroyed baseboards (see attached pictures). Generally, left my bathrooms a disaster. When my tile installer came to do the tile job, he notified me that the tubs were not level. I immediately contacted Dr. Pipe and Maksim gave me every excuse in the book (my floor was not straight, etc.). Although he offers “emergency 24-hour service”, he couldn’t be bothered to send someone to level my tub until Monday. Hence, my tile installer could not finish his job and I was left without the use of both my bathtubs for over a week.
After work in my basement, I had water flooding. Not once, but twice. Destroyed my brand new vanity that Dr. Pipe installed. Disrupted my tenant. Still no resolution to the damaged vanity.
Maxim Osadchyi also took $150 for the installation of the shower trim and I had to pause the project for some time. Texted him that I would let him know when he could come back to finish. No response. Then when I reached out to finish the trim or refund the $150, he refused to do either. Scamming me out of $150.
I do not recommend this company due to their unethical behaviour.
Response from the owner:Dear Alexandra,
Thank you for your review.
On October 17 and 18, 2023, we installed and tested two bathtubs at your property. Two days later, you contacted us regarding concerns about one of the tubs. During that conversation, you used abusive language and slurs, which we do not tolerate. You also relayed concerns raised by your tile and drywall contractor, whom you later dismissed, regarding the tub allegedly being out of level.
On October 23, 2023, I personally attended the site to inspect your concerns. My inspection confirmed that the bathtub had been installed level. The photographs from that visit show a properly leveled tub, while the surrounding drywall and wall surfaces were uneven and not level.
You withheld $100 for the installation of the faucet trim in the second bathroom because you had terminated your tile and drywall contractor, and there was no confirmed timeline for the completion of the remaining work. Our last site visit and conversation occurred in October 2023, nearly three years ago. Since that time, we have not received any further complaints or reports of problems related to our work.
As more than two years and eight months have passed since the project began, and the delays resulted from the site not being ready for completion on your end, we consider the agreement inactive and the project closed.
Our records indicate that the remaining installation work could not proceed due to incomplete site preparations. Accordingly, we cannot accept responsibility for the resulting delays or provide any reimbursement.
Sincerely,
Maxim Osadchyi, P.Eng.
Basement floor drain was backing up, creating a very smelly lake on the floor. Without trying to upsell me, Ron explained the options honestly, clearly, and patiently and understood that we were strapped for cash. He snaked the line, which was the least costly fix, kept at it until he was satisfied with the drainage rate, and cleaned up everything. The price was as listed on the Dr. Pipe website, and far, far better than what I was able to get other, larger, better-known plumbing companies in Ottawa to quote me over the phone. It's also worth noting that these companies charge about $90 to actually come over and give an estimate. Dr. Pipe does not. If they come over and give an estimate and you decline to have the work done at that time, they're okay with that, and there's no charge.
Overall, I was deeply impressed by Ron's competence and honesty, and his commitment when he put in extra time to make sure the job was done right.
Many Ottawa plumbers are blatantly unethical and use predatory pricing on people who are in a jam. Dr. Pipe is the opposite. I can't praise them highly enough.
Response from the owner:Thank you Barry for your business. The roots from the tree in our front yard had found its way into our sewer pipe. After consultation on the available options, Dr. Pipe (Max and Ron) provided their expertise in solving this issue by inserting a liner in a very timely, efficient and very professional manner. They were friendly and consciencious personnel to work with.
Response from the owner:Hi Hans. Thank you for your business. It was our pleasure to help you with roots penetration in the drain. PVC reinforce liner will protect your drain line from roots and will work perfectly for years to come

I had a minor plumbing panic when the tip of my toilet cleaner bottle fell off and got stuck deep in the drain. I was worried about a major clog and called Dr. Pipe Drain and Plumbing. He was incredible— He talked me through exactly what to do over the phone and reassured me that the piece was small enough that it wouldn't damage my pipes. I truly appreciate his honesty and expertise instead of him just trying to sell me a service I didn't need. I’m very grateful for the help and will definitely call them again for any future emergencies!
Response from the owner:Sammy L, thank you for your review. We’re glad we could help you over the phone and give honest advice without an unnecessary service call. We appreciate your trust and look forward to helping again if you ever need us. Sincerely, Dr. Pipe.
Ron from Dr. Pipe came to unclogged my bathtub. He was very efficient and showed up on time. I really appreciated his honesty and he was very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend Dr.Pipe's services. Thanks for a great service!
Response from the owner:Hi Celine. Thank you for your business. Happy Holidays. Sincerely
I interviewed several plumbing companies for my complete drain replacement project before selecting "Dr. Pipe Drain and Plumbing" to do the job. I was reassured by the respectful communication style of Maxim (owner), and his willingness to listen to my preferences, based on what I had learned prior to committing to this project. Scheduling was flexible, and the job was completed in a very timely manner. Andryi (main plumber) was extremely experienced in this type of work, and was very tidy in his approach. He was able to access all of the original drain pipes by creating "partial" trenches, and working through those areas under the concrete slab, without having to dismantle certain finished parts of my basement. All of the concrete debris and aggregate (stones) were placed in feed bags while the job was being done, which kept the mess at a minimum and facilitated the process of back filling once the work was done. I was given a choice of styles of back water valve, with the advantages of each shown to me. All in all, the entire process was a comfortable experience, despite the "invasive" elements of such a project. Andryi, Ron and Max were all very pleasant to deal with and I would highly recommend this company for any plumbing work.
Response from the owner:Thank you for your business. It was our pleasure to work for you. Sincerely, Max, Andryi and Ron

Toilet Leaking in Ottawa: Looking Into the Issue
Were you aware that about 27% of your water usage stems from toilet flushing? A water leak when you flush the toilet can lead to higher water bills. When ranking the most common water wasters, the toilet is near the top of the list. It’s just that such leaks are not usually as prominent as faucet leaks.
Possible Signs of a Running Toilet:
Here are some clear indications that your toilet is leaking:
The toilet is always running.
Water leaking from the drain and puddling in the surrounding region.
Dripping toilet tank.
Strange noises.
Anemic flush and toilet clogs.
Low level of water.
Toilet wobbling.
Regular toilet issues.
If your toilet is leaking, it could be that the back of the toilet bowl is leaking, that the wax ring needs to be replaced, or that there’s something wrong with the flush valve or fill valve. What you do need is to get reputable Ottawa plumbers to assess the situation and fix the problem.
Most Common Reasons for Toilet Leaks
Reason #1: Toilet Tank Leaks
One reason for leaky toilets in Ottawa is a problem with toilet tanks. It’s usually referred to as a running toilet because of the sound of running water even when the toilet isn’t in use. When this happens, you can be sure you have a leaky toilet and need plumbing services.
Reason #2: Water Leaking From the Base
Water puddles on your bathroom floor aren’t necessarily a cause of concern, but the location of the puddle is something to consider. Do you keep puddles close to your toilet? That’s worth looking into since the base might be leaking. If the problem is a leak at the base, the reason could be loosening mounting bolts that need to be tightened or an aging wax ring that needs to be replaced. Licensed plumbers can provide the right fix.
Reason #3: Dripping From a Crack
Do you have cracks in your toilet? That’s a problem you shouldn’t ignore. It’s all the more of a problem if you see water coming through the cracks. There are degrees of cracks, so a cosmetic hairline crack might not present much of an issue. Any crack that leaks, however, is a serious matter. You should turn off the water leading to the toilet and call a licensed plumber. A crack that leads to leaking points to a toilet with compromised structural integrity, which will make the toilet unsafe. Don’t risk your water tank collapsing due to a crack that is not addressed right away. Water damage can be the result. A crack in the bowl can present an even greater risk, especially if it collapses while someone is on the seat.
Reason #4: Damaged Water Lines
Toilets come with their own dedicated water supply lines, and these lines sometimes develop leaks. If you’re like some homeowners in Ottawa, you may not even know where the bathroom supply lines are. You will learn about them fairly quickly if your toilet breaks or cracks. Smaller components attached to those lines, such as fittings and valves, are susceptible to failing. It’s important to be aware of the possibility.
This isn’t specifically a toilet issue. Moisture from compromised supply lines and damaged valves usually travels along the supply lines toward the base of a fixture. In such instances, it might erroneously appear as though your toilet is leaking. If you see any puddles, you should always look at your supply line.
If a toilet in your bathroom is leaking courtesy of the supply line, the cause could be worn washers, loose fittings, or stripped threads in the supply line connections. Otherwise, the supply line itself might be damaged, leading to a leaky toilet.
The fill valve might need to be cleaned or replaced.
Dirt in the hardware.
Flush valve dripping.
How Do I Figure Out the Location of the Leak in My Toilet?
One way to figure out the source of the leaky toilet is first to dry up the puddles and then conduct a visual inspection. It’ll be easier to find any moisture making its way through any cracks or from beneath the toilet. Contact us at Dr. Pipe Drain and Plumbing Ottawa for help in finding out where the leak is coming from. We have experience successfully helping homeowners with leaky toilets in Ottawa. Let us help you!

FAQs
1. How to understand if I have a leaky toilet?
A leaky toilet might have water dripping from the tank, pooling at the base, or running nonstop even when it hasn’t been flushed. These problems waste water, raise your bills, and should be fixed quickly.
2. Why is my toilet leaking at the base?
Base leaks are often caused by loose mounting bolts or a worn wax ring seal between the toilet and the drain. Dr. Pipe’s licensed plumbers can secure the mounting bolts or replace the wax ring to stop the leak effectively and ensure long-lasting results.
3. Can a running toilet be repaired, or do I need a replacement?
Most toilets that run or leak nonstop can be fixed by repairing or replacing parts like the flapper, fill valve, or float. Dr. Pipe can check your toilet and let you know if a repair or replacement is the best option for you.
4. How quickly should a leaky toilet be repaired?
It’s best to fix toilet leaks right away. Even small leaks waste water and can damage your floors over time. Getting Dr. Pipe to repair it quickly helps you avoid expensive water damage and higher bills.
5. What happens during a professional leaky toilet repair?
When repairing your toilet, a licensed plumber will look for the leak, fix or replace any broken parts, check all the seals and connections, and test the toilet to make sure it’s fixed.
6. Should I shut off the water if my toilet leaks?
If you see water pooling on the floor or the leak is bad, turn off the shut-off valve behind the toilet until help arrives. For smaller issues, a plumber can find and fix the problem when they get there.
7. Do you offer emergency leaky toilet repair in Ottawa?
Yes, Dr. Pipe offers fast, same-day leaky toilet repair in Ottawa and nearby areas. Our licensed plumbers fix leaks quickly, so you can avoid water damage and get your toilet working again.
