We had a frustrating experience with another plumbing company that simply didn’t care, so finding Ron was a breath of fresh air. He is truly skilled at what he does.. the toilet and fixture installation were done beautifully and with real attention to detail. What impressed us most was that he went above and beyond without us even asking. We were planning to purchase an additional item, but Ron just took care of it. That kind of skill combined with genuine care for his customers is so hard to find. We will absolutely be calling Ron again for any future plumbing needs!
Response from the owner:Thank you for your business. Sincerely Ron and Max

If I could give a zero stars. I would. I hired Dr. Pipe (Osmaks) in October 2023 to install two alcove-style bathtub, and tub trim, faucet and shower head in my two bathrooms. I told Maksim and Ron (his son) that after they were done, I had a tile installer booked to do the tile around the tub. During the job, they didn’t level/shim the tub, didn’t level/center the shower head line, ripped out the floor plank in front of one tub (but not the second one), and destroyed baseboards (see attached pictures). Generally, left my bathrooms a disaster. When my tile installer came to do the tile job, he notified me that the tubs were not level. I immediately contacted Dr. Pipe and Maksim gave me every excuse in the book (my floor was not straight, etc.). Although he offers “emergency 24-hour service”, he couldn’t be bothered to send someone to level my tub until Monday. Hence, my tile installer could not finish his job and I was left without the use of both my bathtubs for over a week.
After work in my basement, I had water flooding. Not once, but twice. Destroyed my brand new vanity that Dr. Pipe installed. Disrupted my tenant. Still no resolution to the damaged vanity.
Maxim Osadchyi also took $150 for the installation of the shower trim and I had to pause the project for some time. Texted him that I would let him know when he could come back to finish. No response. Then when I reached out to finish the trim or refund the $150, he refused to do either. Scamming me out of $150.
I do not recommend this company due to their unethical behaviour.
Response from the owner:Dear Alexandra,
Thank you for your review.
On October 17 and 18, 2023, we installed and tested two bathtubs at your property. Two days later, you contacted us regarding concerns about one of the tubs. During that conversation, you used abusive language and slurs, which we do not tolerate. You also relayed concerns raised by your tile and drywall contractor, whom you later dismissed, regarding the tub allegedly being out of level.
On October 23, 2023, I personally attended the site to inspect your concerns. My inspection confirmed that the bathtub had been installed level. The photographs from that visit show a properly leveled tub, while the surrounding drywall and wall surfaces were uneven and not level.
You withheld $100 for the installation of the faucet trim in the second bathroom because you had terminated your tile and drywall contractor, and there was no confirmed timeline for the completion of the remaining work. Our last site visit and conversation occurred in October 2023, nearly three years ago. Since that time, we have not received any further complaints or reports of problems related to our work.
As more than two years and eight months have passed since the project began, and the delays resulted from the site not being ready for completion on your end, we consider the agreement inactive and the project closed.
Our records indicate that the remaining installation work could not proceed due to incomplete site preparations. Accordingly, we cannot accept responsibility for the resulting delays or provide any reimbursement.
Sincerely,
Maxim Osadchyi, P.Eng.
Basement floor drain was backing up, creating a very smelly lake on the floor. Without trying to upsell me, Ron explained the options honestly, clearly, and patiently and understood that we were strapped for cash. He snaked the line, which was the least costly fix, kept at it until he was satisfied with the drainage rate, and cleaned up everything. The price was as listed on the Dr. Pipe website, and far, far better than what I was able to get other, larger, better-known plumbing companies in Ottawa to quote me over the phone. It's also worth noting that these companies charge about $90 to actually come over and give an estimate. Dr. Pipe does not. If they come over and give an estimate and you decline to have the work done at that time, they're okay with that, and there's no charge.
Overall, I was deeply impressed by Ron's competence and honesty, and his commitment when he put in extra time to make sure the job was done right.
Many Ottawa plumbers are blatantly unethical and use predatory pricing on people who are in a jam. Dr. Pipe is the opposite. I can't praise them highly enough.
Response from the owner:Thank you Barry for your business. We are family owned and operated local business and always happy to help our customers with different options and services depending on their needs and budget. Thank you kindly for your honest review. Sincerely, Ron Osadchyi and Maxim Osadchyi
The roots from the tree in our front yard had found its way into our sewer pipe. After consultation on the available options, Dr. Pipe (Max and Ron) provided their expertise in solving this issue by inserting a liner in a very timely, efficient and very professional manner. They were friendly and consciencious personnel to work with.
Response from the owner:Hi Hans. Thank you for your business. It was our pleasure to help you with roots penetration in the drain. PVC reinforce liner will protect your drain line from roots and will work perfectly for years to come
Max and his team did the Poly-b replacement for my house. They were professional and super efficient! Million thanks 🙏
Response from the owner:Hi Sophia. It was our pleasure to help you with your Poly B replacement project. Thank you for your business. Sincerely, Max, Andriy and Elvis
I had a minor plumbing panic when the tip of my toilet cleaner bottle fell off and got stuck deep in the drain. I was worried about a major clog and called Dr. Pipe Drain and Plumbing. He was incredible— He talked me through exactly what to do over the phone and reassured me that the piece was small enough that it wouldn't damage my pipes. I truly appreciate his honesty and expertise instead of him just trying to sell me a service I didn't need. I’m very grateful for the help and will definitely call them again for any future emergencies!
Response from the owner:Sammy L, thank you for your review. We’re glad we could help you over the phone and give honest advice without an unnecessary service call. We appreciate your trust and look forward to helping again if you ever need us. Sincerely, Dr. Pipe.

Always Call a Licensed Plumber to Unclog a Tub When You Notice The Warning Signs
A clogged bathtub happens for many reasons.
The most effective way to clean your bathtub drain is to call a licensed, reputable plumbing service when you notice any warning signs.
Clogged Tub Drain Warning Signs
Your bathtub may get clogged with hair, but a clogged bathtub is often a combination of debris. Soapy residues that build up over time resist DIY methods like manually snaking a bathtub drain.
Look out for these warning signs of a clogged bathtub:
A clogged shower tub often makes gurgling noises
The tub drains slowly
You have standing water or water backup up in the tub
You see pooling water on the floor
The bathtub drain smells strange.
A clogged tub drain doesn’t happen overnight, and the warning signs generally indicate a plumbing issue that needs servicing. So why does a clogged bathtub happen?
Here’s Why Your Shower Tub and Bathtub Are Clogging
A homeowner may try to clean their bathtub drain, but over time, all of the shampoos, soap scum, bath bombs, and hair washing down the drain will accumulate in your pipes and may restrict water flow.

Tips to Prevent a Clogged Bathtub and Shower Tub
When customers ask us how to avoid a clogged tub drain, we always tell them what not to do!
Here’s what you should know:
Do Not Attempt Your Own Repairs
Although you might save a few dollars with a DIY repair on a clogged bathtub, the problems you can’t see in your drains could become serious. Snaking a bathtub drain or trying some homemade tub clog remover might seem easy, but it can quickly make the situation worse instead of better. A licensed plumber is always more skilled at diagnosing the real problem—not only can they unclog a bathroom drain faster, but they do also it right the first time.
Clean the Bathroom Drain by Wiping Down the Drain Basket
You can help to minimize the hair building up in your pipes by regularly wiping down the drain basket in your tub or shower.
Install a Drain Trap
A drain trap is an inexpensive way to help keep hair, scum, and debris from flowing into the drain and building up. You can find the right size drain trap in a home improvement store.
Install a Water Softener
The minerals in hard water also add to build-ups in your pipes that can restrict water flow and proper drainage. Your best and most economical solution is usually to install a water softener.
Keep Your Drain Protected
The older your home is, the more protection it needs. An excellent way to prevent a clogged tub drain is by dumping wastewater from mop buckets outside and never flushing dust or dirt into your drains.
The Best Way to Remove Blockage and Unclog a Drain
Don’t panic if your tub doesn’t drain. These remedies may work temporarily on a clogged bathtub drain, but there are drawbacks to the first two methods.
Plunging Your Bathtub Drain: Plungers are an age-old household tool, but using a plunger to unclog a drain can worsen it. That’s because the inadequate pressure of manual plunging usually pushes mounds of debris further down the drain.
Drain Cleaners or Homemade Remedies: A vinegar and baking soda solution is a DIY remedy that may temporarily loosen a clog. However, research now shows this method is ineffective on greasy clogs, and an abrasive DIY solution may damage your drain pipes, and that’s more expensive to fix.
CALL A PLUMBER: While Dr. Pipe specializes in fixing DIY plumbing disasters, it’s far more economical for you to call a licensed, professional plumber to do it right the first time.
Dr. Pipe always completes a pre-inspection.
Depending on the severity of your clogged shower tub drain, we complete the snaking of a bathtub drain using a professional plumbing snake, auger, or high-pressure hydro-jetting to clear blockages and unclog a drain quicker.

FAQs
1. What typically causes bathtub and shower drains to clog?
Bathtub and shower drains often get clogged when hair, soap, bath products, and other debris build up in the pipes. As this stuff collects, it slows down the water, causes backups, and can create bad smells.
2. What are the signs of a clogged bathtub or shower drain?
You might notice water draining slowly, gurgling noises, water left in the tub, or even puddles on the bathroom floor. These are signs of a clog that may need a plumber’s help.
3. Can I try to unclog my bathtub or shower myself?
You can try simple fixes like plunging or taking out debris you can see on the drain cover. But many clogs are deeper in the pipes. Professional plumbers at Dr. Pipe use specialized tools, such as drain snakes and hydro jetting, to safely clear tough blockages.
4. What does professional clogged tub repair involve?
A licensed plumber will check your bathtub or shower drain to find out what’s causing the clog and where it is. They’ll use the best method to remove it and get things flowing again. If needed, they might use a camera or high-pressure cleaning to make sure the pipe is completely clear.
5. Do you offer fast or emergency clogged bathtub repair in Ottawa?
Yes, Dr. Pipe offers fast service across Ottawa, including same-day and emergency repairs for clogged bathtubs and showers. Our team works quickly to get your bathroom back to normal and keep things running smoothly at home.
